Mixed media & Art journal collages

Although I have a great fondness for paper collages, I sometimes feel like working with media other than just paper and glue.

So every now and then I create a mixed-media collage that reflects my inner world and usually also features vintage elements

ART JOURNAL COLLAGES

When I'm art journaling, my focus is on experimenting with different media, without striving for perfection. Art journaling is an accessible way to clear my head and get in touch with my emotions. Because I travel a lot, I started working in mini art journals, made from recycled memo cards (8-12 cm). This way, I can be creative whilst travelling and still keep my luggage as light as possible. A limited choice of materials and small images helps my creativity flow more freely. As media I'm using acrylic paint, ink, natural materials (dried flowers and leaves, feathers, ...) waterpaint, markers, ecoline and photoclippings. The vintage look continues to leave his mark in my art journaling.

I created my own postcards (usually with quotes on them), made from my art journal pages. From the mini journals I merged two adjacent cards.
